Quartz Vs Quartzite: Manmade vs Naturemade
With amazing range of color and patterns these two rocks rival the beauty of granite and marble.
Area of Application:
Countertops, flooring, vanities, showers, and fireplaces.
Quartz
Quartz is more uniform and is made in a multitude of colors and patterns. It can be created to look like natural stones such as granite and marble. A strong selling point for quartz is that its more durable than granite, scratch resistant, stain resistant, mold/bacterial resistant, and doesn't need to be sealed.
Quartzite
Quartzite is a beautiful natural stone that resembles marble, has the durability of granite, and offers minimal maintenance, It has a smooth and creamy pattern. Its an excellent choice if you prefer neutral colors however it can also have unique colors and veining in reds, pinks, yellows, greens, or even blues. Its even possible to backlight it so that it glows and gives your tops or surfaces an otherworldly look.
Origin:
Quartzite is a metamorphic stone formed from sandstone and quartz being compressed and fused together under heat and pressure. The end result is a hard, dense, and extremely abrasion and chemical resistant stone.
Origin:
It is man made consisting of 90% quartz, the rest is composed of resins, polymers, and various types of pigments. This creates a very durable artificial rock without pores or cracks.
